About Us
Where Engineering Meets Art
Stainless Creations is the artistic expression of Chris Thompson, a skilled craftsman with years of experience in high-end stainless steel and specialty metal fabrication. What began as precision engineering work evolved into something more—a creative exploration of what's possible when technical mastery meets artistic vision. Each sculpture is hand-crafted in Tauranga, New Zealand, where engineering discipline and imagination converge.
Chris sees metal not just as a functional material, but as a medium for creative expression. Every piece begins with careful calculation and ends with hours of hand-polishing to achieve the signature mirror-like finish. These sculptures explore light, reflection, and motion frozen in time—fluid forms that seem to defy the weight and rigidity of steel. From water splashes suspended mid-air to everyday objects reimagined, each work transforms industrial material into something that captures emotion and wonder.
The collection features tabletop sculptures designed for contemporary spaces—statement pieces that spark conversation while maintaining an approachable scale. Available works can be purchased directly, or you can collaborate with Chris on a custom commission. Every piece, whether from the existing collection or created specifically for you, receives the same dedication to craftsmanship and the same pursuit of flawless, light-capturing surfaces.

Years of TIG welding mastery and specialty metal fabrication enable forms that seem to defy gravity and material. The signature mirror-polish finish—achieved through hours of meticulous hand-work—transforms stainless steel into surfaces that shimmer like liquid light. Each sculpture interacts with its environment, reflecting and transforming with changing light and perspective. While stainless steel is the primary medium, mixed materials like brass are introduced when the artistic vision demands it. Every piece is finished to gallery standards.
